Insurance Claim Kitchen Remodel

This kitchen had a major leak coming from the dishwasher. The leak slowly soaked into all the hardwood floors, as well as down the back wall and into the cabinets. The insurance company agreed to pay for the damaged areas. However, we couldn’t only replace the damaged areas and leave the rest, as the cabinets were builder grade golden oak, and it would be impossible to match. We ended up replacing ALL the floors with a gorgeous Maple, and did all new cabinets and completely changed the layout. This kitchen turned out top notch and deserves its place on a Pinterest board.

Colorado Kitchen Remodel

In this kitchen, we decided to lighten it up, without tearing it out. The professional paint job makes the 40-year cabinets look like new, and ensures that they will last another 40 years. The contrasting countertops with the travertine backsplash really bring it all together. We opened up the ceiling to get as much light as we could, and it took this kitchen from drab to fab. Of course, the motion sensor LEDs under the cabs are a signature Runyan Construction move and the homeowners just loved it. Some beadboard wainscot on the sides of the cabinets is always a custom touch.

Shiplap Siding Basement Remodel

This was a BOLD statement for a basement, but it worked. I love it when a homeowner is willing to do something unconventional. Most homeowners would have gone the traditional drywall route, but went big and did some texture, in the form of good ol’ shiplap! And it looks great next to the exposed brick. Accompanied by a barn door to separate the storage room, and a great big living space for watching movies and playing ping pong. Don’t be afraid to step outside the box.

This fireplace turned out spectacular. The customer had a hard and fast deadline, the Friday before Christmas, and with a custom piece like this, with all the moving parts, there was no room for error. Now that it’s all done, he has asked us to update his kitchen, because when you stand in the kitchen and look at the fireplace, he said it just needs to be done. Can’t beat that!

This kitchen went from just wanting countertops, and a backsplash, to an entire overhaul. And for good reasons. Mr. Homeowner that lived here is one of my favorite customers, but boy was he stubborn! So stubborn in fact, that the last time he remodeled(18 years ago), he thought that the price of cabinets were so high, that he told the salesman that he could cut down his own trees, mill the wood, buy the tools, and make and install them himself for less. The salesmen laughed and lost the sale. Mr. Homeowner did just that. The cabinets in the BEFORE pictures are his trees, cut from his yard, and he made them himself. So on this remodel, we had to tell him that as much as he liked his cabinets, they were going to be an eyesore with new tops and a backsplash. He also wanted to keep the floor that he laid himself. Not bad for a do-it-yourself’er, but the grout joints were about 1/4″-1/2″ and the tile had to go. When opening this up, we found a can-o-worms and had to replace the entire electrical panel, and all the wiring in the ceiling, as well as new lights. When all said and done, we still came in on budget and Mrs. Homeowner LOVES it. And I must say, Mr. Homeowner loves it as well.

This project was designed by the homeowner, using their ideas as well as some ideas from projects that we completed for other customers in which the homeowner liked what we did and wanted the same thing in their bathroom. This bathroom had the typical garden tub, with builder grade vanity, shower glass, and fiberglass shower floor. The cabinets, hardware, faucets, tub, and quartz all came from a local distributor that we like to use for our higher end remodels. The homeowners were vary happy with how this project turned out as were we. very clean and modern, with some custom tile and finishes.

This was a really exciting project! The entire main floor, minus the kitchen, was in need of a major update. To make it more exciting, we had to complete it prior to the homeowner’s daughter’s wedding reception. The existing fireplace had to be removed and framed out to accept a new, clean face, gas fireplace and customer built ins from Crown cabinetry. The carpet had to go, new doors throughout. But the main attraction was the gorgeous fireplace wall. The final product was the real wow factor.

This was a fun build where I was cut loose to just build as I go and make it fit the space, yet still be functional. The radius end was a great touch to allow for an unobstructed look as you turn the corner from the hallway. Great focal point as you enter the house with plenty of storage.
